43 years ago I was 18 and just broke into radio at my local NJ rock station @WDHAFM doing something called a “metal show” on the weekend. The guy I bought imports from at my local flea market named Jon Z knocked on the door one night while I was on air begging me to play this band called @Metallica . Wouldn’t leave until I did. I played Jump in The Fire that night just to get him out of the studio. Told me if the band ever went anywhere he’d hire me to work for his new label Megaforce. 3 years later he did. Extremely important moment in my career. And Metallica did okay too! RIP Jon & Marsha Z.
