People simply aren't being honest about Drake vs MJ. Drake makes excellent music in several genres: Rap, R&B, Dance, Afrobeats, Alternative, Rock etc. There's no other artist in history that has managed to merge this level of versatility with high commercial viability. He's gaining fans from entirely different parts of the music sphere. His music is holding up remarkably well, accumulating more relevance as it goes viral amongst younger audiences. Quite some time before he released ICEMAN, he had 10 albums charting simultaneously on the Hot 200. All of this while being blackballed from radio. While suing his label. While fighting against an industry that was rooting for him to fail. If anything, we're underestimating how big he actually is. Everything is pointing towards a posthumous boom that will elevate his cultural status far beyond that of any the artists who came before him. At that point, future generations will hold him in a much higher regard than everyone else, including Michael Jackson.
