What do you think is main technical flaw in your swing stopping you from hitting it better? Are you sure that’s the root cause or is it a symptom? For ex. Early extension is a symptom not a root cause. If you just fix early extension, you’ll likely hit it worse. Almost anything that happens in the transition and downswing is just a reaction to the position you put yourself in the backswing good or bad.

@Bnakamura24 @dhayes422 had a theory in walking. Have someone stand still then tell them to walk towards something in the distance without saying what they were doing it for just to see what leg they went forward with first. Was interesting to see but didn’t notice anything specific

Something I messed up on early in my coaching career was how to develop left handed pitchers. A couple situations in particular where everything I thought & taught ended up being wrong. I took some guys & totally pushed them in the wrong direction.

@JasonOchart @drivelinebases Yeah I’m not sure either. Even in the video it almost seems as if where mocap/modeling puts the head of the humerus would require significant scapular movement, but it could just be how it’s displayed for whatever reason.

Coaches love looking at hand path, but what moves the hands during the swing? In this video, the torso position is fixed. This allows us to see the hand movement in relation to the torso, essentially showing us what the arms are doing. The answer? Not a whole lot.

Why am I not a fan of scap retraction drills?🧐 They generally lead to a horizontal yank of the elbow as the pitcher attempts to force this static position. Ironically, this ruins the sequence/flow of the entire arm spiral and limits that deep, well-timed retraction.
