I think the more realistic analysis would be that France is denying even their airspace to the US because they think if the US doesn’t prevail they will be on better terms with Iran to cut a deal for passage through the strait. This is reason enough for the US to rethink any support for France or other NATO countries with similar strategy once this is over.

I won’t argue if the summary is that you’ll never lose the fondness for sweets because that is true for me. But the craving will absolutely go away over 2-3 weeks if you have one that you need to satisfy daily.
