So, without speaking out of turn or going too far beyond what I know as fact, Kent's resignation and Gabbard's past comments on Iran likely put her in an awkward spot. In her opening remarks today, she said the latest threat assessment conveys intelligence committee views "not my personal views or opinions." Ask, would such a statement be necessary if not for Kent's resignation or her past comments? A useful definition of "imminent" in current circumstances may be the one described in the Caroline Test. That test states a preemptive strike would be justifiable if it's responding to a threat that's "instant, overwhelming, and leaves no moment for deliberation."
