Proudly South African. Objective collaboration for the renewal of South Africa. ‘YEW’ refers to Pres Yew of Singapore and the Yew tree as a symbol of revival.

@elonmusk It is a key factor that most tend to ignore when addressing poverty. If the poor keeps on multiplying at increased rates by definition poverty will escalate accordingly and no amount of employment equity / job creation initiatives will be able to counter that in the long run

Here is the letter written in 1987 by the man that Trump has made his ambassador to SA. It would seem that he is an unrepentant racist and a pathological hater of Black liberation.

@BafanaSurprise Please try to do an honest comparison and not a bias political manouvre. Johannesburg rates are about 0.95% of property value and Cape Town is 0.72% which equates to +/- R950 pm on property of R1.5m for Jhb and R895 pm for Johannesburg. @Our_DA @MYANC @Action4SA

@HermanMashaba Your once sober reasoning collapsed into complete and utter crap and misleading political hypocrisy / to buy votes from the illiterate and uninformed. To argue the wall wish to promote unequal development is not promoting a good perception of your intellect. @Action4SA @Our_DA

@geordinhl While the main content of the response is sober and accepted - it is a dissapointing shock to see that even you - from whom we least expected it - fell to the level of so many others - and start insulting one who differs from you. Unfortunately you ruined our respect for you

I see ‘Temu Terreblanche’ is at it again! 🙄 South Africa will never be truly prosperous unless each person has at least a modicum of dignified living, and the hope that life can get better. In Cape Town, we are trying to demonstrate just that. We still have lots of problems, but we’re working, growing and steadily succeeding. 🇿🇦💪
Willem Petzer@willempet

Many of you requested a full breakdown on how Hill-Lewis make ratepayers pay for the destruction of Cape Town. Rob Duigan and I combined our efforts and delivered. This is the most comprehensive and well-sourced report on this matter you can find: youtu.be/F7NUdGUMv0w?si…

Let me add something fundamental here. Children of politicians and their families are not just employed or have businesses, they are employed in strategic sectors of government and big business because of their close relationships and proximity to big business. When they run businesses, they are involved as Tenderpreneurs, facilitating tenders in government and or involved in big businesses to manage government/business relationships. Have you heard of new positions created after 1994 - “Government Relations”. Check it out. Ordinary South Africans with no connections, they are on their own. The GNU was formed to protect these relationships and system.
iScathulo SePhara 👞@ISephara

All children of politicians are either employed or have businesses. That's why it's easy for politicians to undermine unemployed youth when they ask to be prioritised in job opportunities. Politicians dont feel empathy. Thats why they insult & blame youth for being unemployed💔

New York City's New Mayor made reference to our Leader, President Madiba and the Freedom Charter, in his Inauguration Speech as a basis to answer the question, who the City, he now leads, belongs to (all who live in it) What a moment in history and an affirmation of the collective wisdom of our people, whose blood, sweat and tears, was the ink which wrote the Freedom Charter

@SABCNews 3) High poverty levels exist in SA and we must note Blacks represent 82% of the Middle class and 58% of the rich - yet they still benefit from BEE instead of the poor. We need Radical Economic Transformation to benefit the poor - not the rich elite. @Our_DA @MYANC @elonmusk

@SABCNews 2) The privileged population of South Africa is a) 40-50% Blacks b) 30-40% White c) 10–15% Asian and 8–12% Coloured. The privileged black population however still benefit from BEE and high jack benefits intended for the poor. It must be stopped. #BEE #Poverty @MYANC @Our_DA

@SABCNews @MYANC @Our_DA @Action4SA The privileged black population grew from 4% to +/- 25–35% ie +/-15m; - 3x times the white population. These privileged cannot continued access to BEE privileges that high jack benefits from the truly needy.. They should equally be required to share their wealth. #poverty #BEE

@SABCNews Correct! - but remember those privileged are no longer only whites. We must empower the poor - black or white. The privileged black that already benefitted from BEE can’t continue to still benefit - instead of the truly needy. #reconciliation #BEE @MYANC @Our_DA @Action4SA

Everyone in RSA must vote for any party or candidate they support for any reason. Voting is about taste or preference, not necessarily rationality or superior performance. Taste!!. Now, do not insist that your preferred party or candidate is objectively the best choice. Just say you like them. That is okay. Do not fake superior performance plz, superior performance is measured by StatsSA, Auditor General even by SIU sometimes not by you.

@RediTlhabi Debatable - but there might be a glimmer of hope it’s a genuine proposal and attempt to reach out to understand the other side. If so- well done. If one look at the appointment of the National Dialogue Steering Com it is however clear there is no real desire for Reconciliation

Fellow South Africans, I'd like to start a debate. But I am nervous. I feel very strongly about my argument yet I can spot the MANY holes in it. If I were in my high school debating team and someone argued what I'm about to argue, I'd easily dismantle their stance in 3 minutes. So I'm aware of the shortcomings of my proposition: Here it is: I think @CyrilRamaphosa must visit a few Afrikaans communities; go and worship at an NG Kerk, attend a kunstefees, go for a walk in Ventersdorp, buy some produce at a farmer's market, attend a prize giving at a hoer skool; and talk to people - parents, children, workers. I think he should create a moment of tenderness, connection, and talking. It's not an election campaign. Just a moment to say "We must rise above..." Why? 1) By cutting and pasting from the MAGA script, Afriforum & Solidarity HAVE become the fringe! They have also miscalculated and not fully considered the transient and volatile nature of US power dynamics. Today's political moment is not durable. 2) Afrikaners who don't support this moment may be feeling unmoored as the backlash unfolds. Credit to South Africans as the backlash has been against Afriforum, Solidarity, racists and "Amerikaners." That must continue. These racists must NEVER have our hate and undo all the work that has been done. But it is very possible that the current moment may leave some communities feeling like there will be no place for them once the storm has passed. Or feeling like collateral damage of something they didn't support. Cyril can just be visible to those communities because even if they never vote for him and his party, he is their president and they are South Africans. He must go and sing My Sarie Marais is so ver van my Hart..."buy some koeksusters, have some pootjie kos and be with them. It isn't pandering to white fragility. It is marking a specific geopolitical moment that is being exploited and causing a painful chasm domestically. It is signalling that the binaries are unequivocally: "lie vs truth," ..."racism vs anti- racism." It is a loud but tender affirmation that we ALL belong and can navigate political differences without hate. It is telling the lunatic fringe that they don't get to tell South Africa's story. PS - Solidarity and Afriforum don't get to request private meetings with the government so they can "explain" and cleanse their image whilst publicly continuing their BS. They don't get to play South Africans like that. The government must go talk to other Afrikaners.

Inclusion is not something to fear, Die Stem was included in The National Anthem, I am basically asking for us to worship & celebrate together, the name is Reconciliation after all. We can’t fake reconciliation, we do it correctly or we should admit that we are unwilling to make it work.
Jaco Kleynhans@JacoKleynhans

Telling a true Afrikaner he may not celebrate Geloftedag (Day of the Vow) is like forbidding a true Muslim from going on the pilgrimage to Mecca. Totally culturally insensitive and dictatorial of this minister.

@GaytonMcK @MYANC @Our_DA Whatever building blocks are agreed upon for a Hierarchy of Reconciliation - note, one cannot contravene a lower foundational level value later on to enable another higher level value /principle. That would break the foundation of the structure #reconciliationday @MYANC @Our_DA

@GaytonMcK We must create a hierarchy of key values for Reconciliation that all agree too. Pres. Ramaphosa regards Restitution and Equality as the foundational building blocks? Will it work - or is Non-racialism and non-discrimination the key principles? @MYANC @Our_DA #Reconciliationday
