What’s the greatest fake band from a movie or TV show?

Maybe one day I’ll be able to hear the name Alfred Bester without “What about Ray Bradbury?” blaring inside my skull, but today was not that day.

“Whatever, the next person will probably wipe it down before they use it” is the “The shampoo lather runoff will clean my balls when I rinse my hair” of the workout world.

At this point I just assume the people who don’t wipe down the equipment they use at the gym are the same people who don’t actively wash their privates in the shower.

No one will remember: - your salary - how “busy” you were - how many hours you worked People will remember: - that time the waitress said “Enjoy your meal” and you replied “Thanks, you too!”

The RJS is a paraphrase from his Masterclass Workshop at When Words Collide @alexwriters last weekend. (Prior to this, one colleague asked if these were my uncles.)

My “Wall of Inspiration” in my office is taking shape. @HNTurtledove, whose work first made me sit up and say “I want to do this one day!” @HenryRollins for inspiring me to “Show up and do the work!” @RobertJSawyer for proving to this kid that a Canadian can make a go of it.

Favourite quotes from each will be added when I have a chance to pick up some hanging hooks. We’re not allowed to use nails because asbestos! Until then, here’s my Bowie section (also a work in progress).
