Birchwell, a new consumer healthcare platform created by Avista Healthcare Partners, just launched and announced its first acquisition. Birchwell is acquiring Bag Balm, a Vermont-based therapeutic skincare brand that launched in 1899. Bag Balm has been majority owned by Gemini Investors since 2014.

Rogue, a Los Angeles-based snack company that produces high-protein chips made without seed oils or artificial ingredients, officially launched today with four SKUs. The brand was co-founded by Tommy Riggs and developed by Science, Inc., the team behind viral household brands Dollar Shave Club and Liquid Death. Rogue is launching nationally at 2,800 Walmart doors in July and is also available via their website.

FREE BIRD Southern Spring Water just landed at Walmart in the Southeast. The company’s still & sparkling water varieties are now available in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina, with additional placements in select neighboring states. Founded by Jay Williams in 2024, FREE BIRD sources its water from Georgia’s Blue Ridge Mountains and packages it in recyclable aluminum cans. Crazy Mountain, the non-alc beer brand founded by the trio behind Casamigos, announced a $15M seed round led by CAVU Consumer Partners. Coatue and Discovery Land Company also participated in the round. George Clooney, Rande Gerber, and Mike Meldman launched Crazy Mountain in March with two brews: Original and Lime. Crazy Mountain is led by CEO Steve Fechheimer who previously served as the CEO of New Belgium. Prior to joining New Belgium, Fechheimer spent several years in executive roles at Beam Suntory. Crazy Mountain is available via their website and will begin rolling into retail shortly.

The Wine Group (TWG), the second largest wine supplier in the U.S. behind Gallo, just acquired RTD cocktail specialist St. Agrestis. Founded in 2014 and based in Brooklyn, St. Agrestis is best known for its non-alcoholic Phony Negroni cocktail range. The company sold 59,000 cases in 2025 with the majority of sales coming from the on-premise and retail channels.
