I've appreciated and admired articles in @TheEconomist since high school. I never thought I'd see a figure generated from data I helped lead and acquire. Proud #PI moment. Thank you @KKadonsky @FRomanJR @AriannaTariqi and students for making this possible.

We are proud to be cited in a recent @TheEconomist article authored by @gileadamit. We provided the data (countless hours to accumulate) for this figure. A huge thanks to the #WBE community and @ucmerced students past and present! economist.com/international/…

Today in my grad class we drew casual maps to understand the Jackson Water Crisis. Love seeing my students consider the big picture using systems thinking!

@ProfCharlesHaas @TheWheltonGroup Listened to an interesting @planetmoney podcast on this recently re: opening the economy and protecting citizens’ lives. Not casting a vote either way on the concept/process, just sharing something y’all might enjoy. 🤓

Dedicated ASCE Members in Mississippi deliver another salient state Infrastructure report card. Like much of the Nation, investments in MS would pay off for public safety and the economy.

Mississippi’s cumulative infrastructure grade is a “D+”. “As a state that prides itself for the hospitality we show, this D+ grade is not very welcome” - Jacob Forrester, Chair, ASCE 2020 Report Card for Mississippi’s Infrastructure

@TheWheltonGroup 1 million percent agree! I also find that it’s a useful skill (socializing results) that students/profs need to build and exercise...and many of my former students enjoyed it, too (when they could find time for it).

@cprout1 I wish more information from studies (not just ours) was able to enter the public domain. Socializing that info is, I think, one of the best ways we can support those who pay for it (taxpaying American public) and who it benefits.
