@APHClarkson economic indicators for which interest groups need to deteriorate for a regime to fall.
Otherwise, saying "the economy will bring down the regime" is just saying "everything will collapse when everything collapses". That's my 2 cents.

@APHClarkson patronage, clientelism, corruption (all true). Authoritarian regimes just need working well enough to keep the groups that matter politically on board. So thinking "The Economy" as a single thing experienced uniformly by society doesn't make sense to me. The question is which

The primary factor that brings authoritarian regimes to the point of collapse is the economy, and Turkey will be no different in that

They say 80% of Iranians are against the regime. On top of that, 2 of the world's foremost militaries destroy a huge chunk of that regime, and it still remains firmly in place. Similar in Venezuela. It's very, very hard to beat a modern repressive state willing to use force.

@oocsitcoms Not a plot hole but always bothered me. In brooklyn 99, it's implied multiple times that cpt. Holt speaks french, spanish, greek and a little portuguese. Yet it takes him an entire episode to figure out that kanalizacija which is a very latin word means the sewage.
