Incredibly proud of former Carmel Christian Cougar AJ Anderson. One of the absolute pleasures I’ve had the privilege to coach over the years. Tireless worker that’s overcome obstacle over obstacle to be where he’s at today. If you’ve ever met AJ you know how special he is and how he’s had such a wonderful impact on everyone around him. Best is yet to come!

One of our college guys was battling a few things: ➡️ controlling the forward move ➡️ understanding tilt ➡️ consistently barreling balls We locked in on the tilt drill, which also helped clean up his forward move. We simplified his bat path by starting with the bat on his shoulder so he could focus on the body movements first. From there, he’ll gradually work back into his scap load and a more comfortable bat position. Progress > perfection 💪⚾️

@abarkett17 Absolutely! It shouldn’t be about old school vs. new school…it’s all just school. Everyone sharing knowledge and ideas is how we grow the game and support the next generation of players.

Why do some hitters look like they have forever to hit… and others don’t? Before vs After 👀

Hitters don’t need a huge forward move, but they do need one. 6–8 inches between where the rear hip starts and where it finishes. That forward move has to match the rear hip coil + rear scap stretch. When those 3 stay in a 1:1:1 balance, hitters gain consistency, timing, and more hard hit balls.

2026 Auburn Commit A lot of hitters think their momentum and front leg is what powers the swing. In reality, the rear hip, scap, and tilt do the work. The front leg is mostly just there to keep you from falling on your face , it’s the passenger, not the driver. When a hitter controls their forward move and lets the swing put the foot down to prevent premature weight shift, watch the ball jump off the barrel.
