You’re mixing timelines and facts to make a point that doesn’t hold up. Harper never implemented a consumer carbon tax.. he proposed intensity based regulations that never became what we have today. The current carbon pricing system was created and expanded under the Liberals. On pipelines.. Trans Mountain was approved under Harper, then stalled by policy shifts and legal challenges, which was ultimately bought with taxpayer money under Trudeau, after private investors walked away. That’s not exactly a clean win. As for abandoned wells.. those are largely a provincial regulatory issue in Alberta, not a federal one, and they’ve accumulated over decades under multiple governments. After 11+ years in power, at some point the Liberals own the outcomes. Blaming a government from 2015 and earlier only goes so far.

Since 2014, Canada piled on a rising carbon tax, stricter regs (C-69), tanker bans, and looming emissions caps. Investment dropped, pipelines got killed. We didn’t lose oil… we made it harder to build, move, and compete.
