🚨 A paedophile City of London Police officer has been granted anonymity despite admitting having indecent images of children in open court. The disgraced constable resigned after being caught with content showing sexual abuse on his mobile phone. Commissioner Peter O’Doherty, who chaired a gross misconduct hearing, said the offences were “serious”, that the officer had damaged the force’s “legitimacy” and “failed to protect the most vulnerable” in society. But following mitigation from Officer A’s solicitors, he granted an order that his name be withheld from the public. A spokesman said: “A development in the former officer’s health was presented by their legal representation. “Following careful consideration, the chair took the decision to grant anonymity based on police conduct regulations.” His colleagues investigated the policeman who pleaded guilty to possession of indecent images of children in September 2024. He was sentenced to a community rehabilitation order and made subject of a sex offenders register notification requirement. Officer A then quit his job in the Square Mile.
