Good Samaritans in Jacksonville, Florida intervened last month as a mother tried to stop a man from driving away from her 2-year-old and 6-month-old in a DMV parking lot. “Investigators determined the man was driving off against the woman’s will, dragging her and one of the children through the parking lot,” the sheriff’s office said. The bystanders helped the woman and her children get to safety and gave officers a description of the suspect and his vehicle. Authorities later arrested the 26-year-old suspect and charged him with child abuse, false imprisonment, battery, possession of marijuana, and resisting an officer without violence.
