@craigcl @TheHerdBros If all the p5 teams none of them could scedule a good mid? Should we look to see if there are any non-d1 teams playing those p5 schools?

@craigcl @tarkaniang @TheHerdBros If I was betting yes, I’d probably take Auburn. But part of what makes the ncaa tournament one of the best events is seeing these mid majors that had amazing seasons beat these schools. Who wants to see a team who had has had tons of opportunity and fails over and over instead?

I guess if you want to assume its fake. But i know top teams do not want to play a good midmajor because it only hurts them. I know that first hand. They are hapoy player the bottom of the barrell teams at home because they want to schedule home games and they will still get a crowd. Go look at the nonconference schedules of the best midmajors. You will see tge only p4 teams they play are either "made for tv games" (Gonzaga or UNLV in the hey day) or in pre conference showcases or tournaments. Look at USU, SDSU, St Marys amd see how many p4 schedule them.

@tarkaniang @TheHerdBros I’d imagine any school could release emails trying to schedule games that don’t get scheduled…

@craigcl @TheHerdBros Miami AD released emails he sent to p4 schools requesting scheduling. There could be a lot of reasons why the p4 school turned it down so i am not going to say they were afraid. But they did try to schedule them.

@tarkaniang @TheHerdBros I tend to agree, I don’t want Auburn in either. Miami was scraping by in the MAC. Sure for them a shot. I’d put them in the play in and give them a Q1 team to win their way into the 64.

You are not getting the point. P5 teams do not want to play miami. I see your argument if they offered to play Miami and they turned it down but it is the p4 that is refusing to schedule Miami. So why do we punish Miami for that? Why reward midiocre p4 teams becausevthey get to play 17 q1 games simply because of their conference affiliation.

@craigcl @tarkaniang @TheHerdBros If auburn would have gone, idk 7-10 in those q1 games, I think there’d be a point. But you can’t just get rewarded for playing the games, you have to win some, and doing that at a 23% clip isn’t enough.

So Auburn was able to play 17 Q1 teams and Ohio couldnt get one to play them. Compare the two teams to comparable opponents Miami better record against q2 Miami better record against q3 And tied on Q4 Is it really fair to compair q1 wins when one team has 17 opportunities to play those games and the other has 0 opportunities

The coaches actually understand. It seems like a few too many ballots were issued to the Detroit media. Hoiberg did the best job. He is the coach of the year in the Big Ten. This is not even remotely debatable by anyone with an IQ over 75.
Jon Rothstein@JonRothstein

Michigan's Dusty May has been named Big Ten Coach of the Year by the media, per release. Nebraska's Fred Hoiberg has been named Big Ten Coach of the Year per the coaches, per release. Two Coach of the Year awards?! "Inconceivable." - Vizzini, The Princess Bride, circa 1987

Yaxel is a dog. Best all around player in the county. MSU won the league by 3 games last season, Jase Richardson was the clear best player on the best team. Jase made 3rd team all conference.

@RaphealDavis3 It will be this guy he was the best on the court today and he can guard 1-5 it’s truly not close. The best player on the best team

Truly an unbelievable story & season. 31-0, 8th all time & 5th team since 2000 to go undefeated in the regular season. Dont think people realize how tough it is to win like this. Good MAC league, injuries, adversity. Miami always finds a way. Will tell my future kids about this one day
