In a perfect recruiting arena based on merit, you would be right. Except it's not. Currently, the H1Bs have created a network of recruiting based on caste, and nepotism. Unqualified workers are recruited over merit based US workers due to the hiring managers' preference for caste adherence. Most of us in tech, that have been building and investing in businesses see this on a global basis. It's about time we Americans protect our own workers. Then, you have our FAANG companies exporting and training overseas workers. Already our kids coming out of university are saddled with student loans debts and now can't get entry jobs.
