Today, I laid a wreath at the Grote Kerk in The Hague - commemorating the entry of the Princess Irene Brigade into The Hague during its liberation in 1945. The brigade was based in Wolverhampton in the UK during the war formed of exiled Dutch soldiers and resistance fighters.

Voor wie denkt angst aan te kunnen jagen, heb ik een boodschap: wij laten ons in democratisch Nederland nooit het zwijgen opleggen door geweld. Veel dank aan politie en brandweer voor hun snelle optreden.

Honoured to attend the National Remembrance Ceremony at Nationaal Ereveld Loenen today. Nearly 4,000 war victims rest here, among them resistance fighters, forced labourers and those fallen on later missions.     Opdat wij nooit vergeten.
