@jeangraysons I think the blue wasn’t great, but I think giving her a thicker and more powerful body than a typical model was a really good decision.

@LSXYZ9 Costs might be lower, but people’s wages are also a lot lower now.

It can be price or barrier to entry, because even going back in time and looking at inflation, it seems like costs are actually lower now to get in? So how were kids getting in back then but can't now? Is the age demo different for online vs offline? Does Gen Z/etc dislike tcgs?

What happened to TCG's btw? When I was young my locals average age was probably 12~18 (YGO/PKMN/MTG) w/ some adults in their early 20s (usually uni students) & rarely the 30s+. But now whenever I see posts everyone in the stores seem late 20s~40s w/ no younger players.

@arshgoyal13 You cannot randomly swap residency. If he wants to swap residency, he'll have to participate in at least 50% of a team's matches in EU for a split first. He would count as an NA player for his first split at least

this is actually completely irrelevant. busio has polish citizenship and could declare his residency to be European at any time. if busio does have a KC offer, it's better by default than any offer NA could muster up. there's no reason he wouldn't take it — and KC needs a supp.

@arshgoyal13 kc apparently just signed a big name korean mid, so they don't have the import slot (or the money tbf) for busio. i refuse to play busio's game

@Goldenglue Unfortunately, both Riot and FlyQuest are too incentivized to keep Bwipo around. FlyQuest is too important for the LTA and Bwipo is too important for FlyQuest. The fact that Bwipo likely said this without thinking means that this a much bigger issue than just Bwipo.

@aremts @IWDominate This would essentially turn the LPL into the “effective” international league (similar to the NBA in America with basketball or MLB in America with baseball.

@aremts @IWDominate If we only cared about having the best teams possible, we would either A: create a singular league above the regional leagues with no region lock as a replacement to our international tournaments, or B: turn off region lock in the LPL and remove the international tournaments.

From my unbiased perspective, I speak for everyone when I say that MSI would be objectively better with 2 teams added. HLE (Winner of the previous international should always be invited to the next one each year for hype/narratives) 2nd Seed from NA (whoever that is).

@IWDominate Personally, I think keeping region parody (every region gets 2 teams) and ensuring that Brazil gets a representative is more important than ensuring that C9 is at the tournament. Most internationals have really good teams that didn’t make it.

@IWDominate This is very obviously not true (and anyone who thought it was true even back in 2024 when riot was creating the LTA was frankly foolish). This leads into a scenario where C9 is not at MSI despite being notably better than Furia. (C9 would be 6th and Furia is out all ready)

@IWDominate There are lots of children that watch football. That’s why there are clearly no alcohol advertisements during football games. Definite and true statements have been said.

Whenever a sponsor such as alcohol/gambling comes into league one of the major pushbacks is that league is a video game marketed to children and has a majority child audience. This belief runs opposite to everything I know about league and the problems of the game. My understanding of the reason that League is declining in relative popularity is that there isn’t much marketing at all that converts actual young players to league and that most kids are playing games like Roblox, Minecraft, Valorant instead of playing league. From what I’ve gathered from my own community/demographics that I’ve seen, the league player base is generally aging, is there any evidence to support the contrary?

@TLTM32 I don’t agree. It’s a decent and fairly standard piece to provide important context. There’s actual race baiting elsewhere that we should be calling out. All those people who immediately blamed immigrants - we should be going after them.
