Marillion is a complete rat, I'm just glad Sansa grew up enough to see him for what he is by the time of their meeting. In AGOT a handsome singer making songs for her would probably have been irresistible to her

i don't care whether or not cersei is a bad person ... is she an interesting character? does she titillate me when i read about her? do i find her dynamics with other characters rich and complex? in her perspective, cersei is doing ... if not the right thing, then the necessary

If you’re forcing your own 21st century morals into the text then you’re reading and understanding asoiaf wrong of course you hate every character Instead of the 2-3 you are biased and hypocritical about.

@baelishbones So many people interact with this story in such a way that I wonder why they bother. Clearly most of it is going over their head

the concept of reading with the expectation that an author is going to spoon feed you “justification” for a characters moral wrongdoings because you don’t know how to discern diegetic reasoning in a book made for people aged 17 and up
۟@trglb

i promise you a ten year old can understand “tywin parenting bad”; that still isn’t a compelling explanation or justification for why a 30 year old abled-bodied rich white first born male who’s siblings take the brunt of their father’s abuse acts the way he does

Feels bleak that people have grown so sick of having to read and learn, two of life’s greatest and most rewarding pleasures, that they built machines to spare them from ever having to know anything again. I feel as though I’m living in a prequel to Fahrenheit 451.

Log in to X, AI slop, log in to Facebook, AI slop, log in to Insta, AI slop, try to google something, you guessed it, AI slop. And AIs responding to AI slop. An infinite death spiral of AI slop drowning what made the internet good: meaningful connections with other human beings.

Scraping websites and having AI summarize them, so that no one visits the websites, is theft. Training AI on videos, so that it can make new videos that compete with them, is theft. We are witnessing the largest theft of creative work in history.

@JuanterRG @Unohanabbygirl Yeah I don't get why it's only the rape people talk about. People get flayed, burnt alive and hanged in this story.

@cravenknave @Unohanabbygirl And I get why the criticisms focus on the rapes, but like, the mountain also smashed a fucking baby against a wall and it exploded. In the same parts about Lolly's rape Joffrey shoots a famined commoner in the face with a crossbow. it's not just "george likes rape lol"

A moment that makes my stomach churn is in ACOK when arya overhears chiswyck retelling how the mountain raped a girl in front of her father which then turned into a gang rape. Aside from it acting as arya’s catalist to start giving jaqen names, it’s basically brushed aside (1/3)

i hate reading asoiaf youll read a line about a woman being raped by half a hundred men and your stomach would drop and youll want to cry but then the book forces you to move on cause its literally just one throwaway line and its not important and i hate it i hate it so much

Sansa is quite funny but she never gives voice to her quips. Tyrion is making all these little comments under his breath the morning of Joff's wedding and Sansa is having similar thoughts. I can understand why she wouldn't warm to him though

@badjurassictake @bobo_circus What's the point in even reading the book if you just assign whatever meaning you want to words that are fairly explicit.

@bobo_circus I remember “Hideous” but I have always thought of that as more “She has a really sharp features and is muscular” than she’s like, conventionally unattractive
