Gigaverse's 1YR anniversary this week. It's safe to say that when we launched the game, we did not expect to find ourselves at the precipice of epicosity we find ourselves today. It's been a wonderful ride so far. But I'm sorry to inform you, you've seen nothing yet. We've spent the last few months laser focused on big long term swings that set us up for years to come. We've expanded the team with a very specific set of very capable individuals, including additional engineers. We've upleveled how we work with tools & processes to scale with us, supercharged by a winning culture. Work on what we call 'Gigaverse 1.0', the "long term version of the game" is well under way, and this week we launch the first piece of it. Our pipeline for the months ahead is insane. Great time to start playing if you aren't already.

A year in abstract. What a journey!

I plan to actively write Ethos pieces for @AbstractChain Giga Chads or people who have made meaningful contributions. The first one is Skarly. Founding contributor from the very early days of Abstract, @Skarly. Skarly is more than just a planner. With over 10 years of experience in system architecture and proven real world data as the lead engineer of Wolf Game, he’s a verified tier 1 developer. In December 2024, right after the massive Pudgy Penguins airdrop significantly raised expectations for Abstract, OCH launched on the Abstract chain. At that time, many Abstract based NFTs were struggling and failing to gain traction, but OCH completely broke that jinx and reversed the sentiment. I still vividly remember that moment. What made @onchainheroes interesting wasn’t just fun for fun’s sake. Through an on-chain Risk to Earn model, it encouraged users’ speculative instincts while forcing them to think about risk management. The burn system using gacha zones and weapon NFTs showed a solid attempt to control inflation, and I think the overall design was quite well thought out($HERO token is also an integral part of that ecosystem.) Abstract is much more active now with many Dapps coming in, but honestly, without OnChain Heroes laying this kind of groundwork early on, the future would’ve looked pretty bleak. Recently, Skarly has been sharing test versions directly in the Telegram group I run. Seeing him as a hands on founder who actually gets into the field himself makes me trust him even more. And then I found out Skarly is Korean? No wonder the Korean localization was done so well. I also recently picked up an OCH NFT myself. When the new season opens, I’m definitely going all in.

Probably the most polarizing 12 months of my life.. The highs have been extremely high, and the lows have been extremely low. In chronological order: > One of my best friends passes away last Christmas > Gigaverse is announced > Wifey & I find out we're pregnant with our 2nd kid > Launch gigaverse ROMs on a day everyone thought nobody would mint anything, they mint out in 10 mins > My father passes away (nobody tells you how hard this is, especially when its sooner than expected) > Launch of gigaverse, the game is 100% bootstrapped > Less than 30 days later, I quit my job to go full time on giga, even though no idea yet if it's gonna work > Crazy insomnia and migraines for several weeks while I process the cocktail of emotions > We continue growing, we are profitable > Raise our first round from a top consumer crypto VC to maximize our odds of building a loved game & IP > Our 2nd kid is born, a scary delivery with some complications but luckily a healthy baby boy > Gigaverse hits 80,000+ paid accounts > For the first time ever my wife and I host family & extended family staying with us over Christmas. Plenty of warmth and laughter. So much to be grateful for this year, despite the lowest lows. Still reflecting on the most important stuff I learned throughout all this. Will write separately. For now my #1 piece of advice is to spend more time with your elderly family members. You often don't know which conversation will be the last, and once they're gone it's so easy to think of a long list of "I wish I told them about abc" or "asked them about xyz". Looking foward to a simpler 2026.

Gigaverse Pets added to Giganoob User spesific data in lower table, faction data in top table. Chobo showing themselves as the true pet masters. But Crusader have 555 (!) eggs in the boiler, so their position is definitely threatened. Summoner and Foxglove also showing strength. Overseer is struggling. Apparently, users who chase relic raffles lack the funds to buy and hatch eggs. Who could’ve possibly guessed. Archon and Athena are at the bottom both in number of pets, score and eggs in hatchery. If pets are let loose in the upcoming Conquest, these two factions are likely going to be torn apart by our beautiful and slighly violent pets. Click the green Dino above the main table to see all Giglings that both have Giga rarity and were hatched from Giga ROM eggs. You’d be surprised how few there are. And if you click on a username, it will show you all their pets. You can sort on rarity, egg-type and faction. I also did some major changes to the Overview page. Pets are added there aswell. Toggle buttons for switching between Eggs and Pets for both "Faction Outlook" and "Top 10 Egg/Pets Farmers". Not to mention, I removed the term "Outgame". I'll tag @Aizcalibur as I am sure he will be very happy about that. Joke aside, the overview page was confusing af. Hopefully it makes more sense now.
