@SpacedPotatoes@obamasucks1776@JfkPascalNajadX As i said its never just a 5 minute stop on a road trip.
With the rate the tech is going soon you won't have to stop at all on an 800 mile trip with an electric car.
🚨 JUST IN: President Trump TERMINATED the Obama-era mandate that pushed auto start-stop systems into vehicles.
You know the one.
You stop at a red light.
Your engine shuts off.
Every. Single. Time.
Doesn’t matter if you hate it.
Doesn’t matter if it wears down the starter.
Doesn’t matter if you have to turn it off manually every time you start the car.
It was forced in the name of “efficiency.”
Trump just ended it.
No more government telling automakers how to design your engine.
No more being annoyed at every stoplight.
Build better cars. Let consumers choose.
Common sense is back.
Gas is now $5/gallon in Ohio.
Fu*k this shit and every gaslighting MAGA shill who won't condemn this.
MAGA is dead.
And don't you dare fu*king cope about gas prices under Biden.
I've never paid this much in my damn life for gas.
@SpacedPotatoes@obamasucks1776@JfkPascalNajadX I know rite? People in 2005 would have thought i was nuts if i told them we would have electric cars that could go 300 miles lol.
We do now.
@SpacedPotatoes@obamasucks1776@JfkPascalNajadX Its really not anymore, i have a razor scooter from 2005 and a golf cart from 1988 that take the time you're thinking lol. The tech has gotten a lot better since even 2012 when the world supposedly ended and this must all just be our imagination now LMAO 🤣.
@crazymacaw@obamasucks1776@JfkPascalNajadX Someone taking a piss or buying a bag of chips and a soft drink takes maybe five minutes tops whereas charging one of these batteries takes much much longer
@SpacedPotatoes@obamasucks1776@JfkPascalNajadX I don't drive far like that often enough to worry about it, when i am on a trip like that a stop usually involves someone having to piss or wanting something from a convenience store anyway, so it wouldn't waste time at all.
For an 800-mile road trip, EVs add **2.5–3 hours** of charging time vs gas.
Gas: 2–3 stops, each under 5 minutes. Total fueling time? 10–15 minutes max.
EV reality (2025–2026 models): 3–4 DC fast charger stops, 15–35 minutes each. Total charging: 1–2.5+ hours spread out. Pure driving is already 10–12 hours at highway speeds. Add the charging and you’re looking at 13–15 hours door-to-door.
I don’t have 3 extra hours to sit at a charger while my family waits. Gas is in and out. This isn’t “convenient” for long hauls… it’s a time tax.
(Yeah, a quiet ride is nice… but not worth losing 2-3 hours on a road trip.)
@SpacedPotatoes@obamasucks1776@JfkPascalNajadX It doesn't take that long anymore thats so 2015, lots of used one's going around but yea they are the older one's that take longer to charge.
When the ones they are making now get cheaper many more people are going to go ev.
As long as the gov doesn't ruin all new cars.
@Directandhated@JfkPascalNajadX I honestly wouldn't have a problem with the feature if it would just be off by default.
Then I could turn it on when I'm running out of gas LOL.
@JfkPascalNajadX Because Americans are so fucking dumb, they can't press a switch to disable the start/stop themselves, they have to force the manufacturer to not have it installed...
@bogie19th@bhpatrick@JfkPascalNajadX Which makes this worthless.
Nothing but a political stunt.
The automakers will be too afraid to get rid of it knowing the Democrats are just going to bring it back with a vengeance in a couple more years lol.
@bhpatrick@JfkPascalNajadX No. This is just an elimination of the government credit given to auto manufacturers that they received to include this. Now it will be on the auto manufacturers as to whether they want to add it, and most likely, pass the cost on to the consumer.
@Racquetball1501@JfkPascalNajadX Honestly if they could just program it all out to run like a normal car I wouldn't mind the bigger battery and bigger starter, would probably last a long time lol.
@JfkPascalNajadX How much weight does this add to the car? They shave every ounce they can but then have to put in a much bigger battery and a bigger starter. My little 4 cylinder car has a bigger battery than my big V6 SUV.
@SpacedPotatoes@obamasucks1776@JfkPascalNajadX Ive been. I no longer have any gas powered equipment or toys.
The dirtbikes got replaced by ebikes.
Electric chainsaws are way better then having to mess with carburetors all the time.
I was gonna get a battery for a leaf i got for $1000 but the tariffs kind of ended that idea.
@BTCBreadMan@MattcomX Nonsense, LMFAO 🤣😆 im rolling on the floor with this one.
My 500$ Cadillac i bought 2 years ago for 500$ has leather seats and would dust that.
My charger i got for only 3000$ had leather seats.
Personally i prefer cloth seats but beggars can't be choosers LMFAO 🤣😆.
Took my 16 year old to look at cars today.
At first he loved the Toyota Camry we looked at, but when he saw the seats were cloth he hard vetoed it.
They have another one with leather seats, but it’s an XLE and costs $5k more.
How can I change his mind so I can save some money?
@trumplicans2024 Yes, faggotry is not compatible with effective fighting tactics. That's why trans phobe is a stupid word. Nobody is afraid of those freaks. We just don't like having to see these weirdos in public.
