Apparently the naming rules around marmalade were "contrary to German linguistic tradition". That’s fair enough. They’re contrary to our linguistic tradition too, but we don’t make EU rules. That’s what we voted for. The folly of the ‘re-set’ in action.

Here we go again… “the UK government has now revealed the updated marmalade decree is among 76 updated EU food-related laws that will apply in England, Wales and Scotland too if its wider food deal is agreed.”

It’s stories like this that remind people why they wanted out from the EU yoke. The world is on fire, but let’s rebrand marmalade to comply with the ‘regulatory superpower next door.

@DunPoliticing @cholatera We always were ‘money island’. They simply can’t allow us to be successful outside of the EU, so we get sucked back in again.

@createngland @cholatera I’d tell the EU to get fucked and ban them selling anything to us. It’ll hurt them far more than it will hurt us. It’ll would stop about £180 billion more leaving the UK than arrives here.
