How much you charge for a project should be determined by: • The value of the project • The value of the client • Your value as a designer Before closing a client, study who they are. This will help you charge based on the value of the client and the value of the project to the client. Most designers charge based on their own value alone. And sadly many designers don't even know their value❗

20 mins photoshop per day for 8 months made me the great designer I am today. Just 20 MINS I could have scrolled daily for 20 mins with zero impact. An anime episode is even longer than 20 mins. But many people can't even build the discipline to learn something new for 20 mins daily. So damn l@zy❗

I recently created a promotional ad design for my client twinkle sprout.ng 🔥🔥 At first she had a direction that she wanted to go with for the overall layout of the design, so we communicated over things that she liked and things that she did not like and then I went into research mode 📳. At first what I had in mind was the fact that children had to be involved as this is a brand that sells kiddies wears; I didn't just want to put in children that their emotions we are not thrilling, I needed excited children and so I generated a prompt for my AI that I work with for image generation. As soon as I got the image the exact image I wanted, I started testing out colors and I went for the font Sora and also a font that is playful in order to attract the view of their target audience maybe children or even parents that have little children at home. To cut the whole story short the client was so excited and appreciated the work that was created this has been a comeback client that have trusted me over multiple of her jobs and we always turn up for them. Ai designs lack human connection ⚡ This would turn out to be it's greatest disadvantage.🙂‍↕️ The strength of Artificial intelligence lies in the ability of Humans to make proper use of it to meet the needs of clients. People would buy from you better as a result of that connection created by your designer in your promotional flyers not from what Ai creates just out of mere orders Graphic designers, Your Job is safe, Stop panicking, Keep creating, Connect the dots, Build the brand. @zazzygfx Adding value and positioning properly to attract foreign clients is totally the way out.. we are in a system were design is not valued.. The day I discovered $50 is just a mere church offering given to a child in these Western countries..I knew there's a problem somewhere.

I’ve actually tested this myself. There was a time I charged ₦50k–₦60k per flyer. But let’s be honest, long term, that model doesn’t really work in Nigeria. At some point, the client will realize: “I can get this cheaper elsewhere.” Or they’ll just pay a designer monthly on retainer instead. That’s the reality. Flyer design alone is not a strong standalone service here. Even the designers charging that range are usually adding motion design or extra deliverables to justify it. And even with that, the market is still not deep enough yet. Ask yourself honestly: How many ₦100k flyers can you realistically close in a month? And how many of those clients will come back consistently? Except you’re working with clubs or entertainment brands, demand is not stable. So I had to rethink things. I focused on: • Adding more value (motion design, strategy) • Targeting international clients • And moving into brand design Now I charge ₦1M+ per project and don’t need volume to survive. If you’re a flyer designer: Don’t just shout ₦100k pricing because Twitter said so. Skill up, expand your offer, or reposition. Because flyer design alone won’t carry you long term.

I remember how a client on Upwork was going to pay $30 for a flyer design. I bid for the job and the client is Nigerian, so I had a high chance of getting it and I did He replied, we exchanged contact As we spoke on Whatsapp, he beat the price down to 10k for the same flyer he put $30 on Upwork without a by tangible reason except that I should I understand as a Nigerian Guess what, then I needed the money, so I did it at 15k🤣. And they came back again and again for jobs until I transitioned fully to web development
