If there's any aspect of pre-movie that season 4 heavily improved on, it's the visuals. Not only did they fully commit to being faithful to each board artists artstyle, but there's so much variation between each and every episode. You'd think these screenshots are from completely different seasons, but they're simply mere episodes apart from each other.
Season 4 is definitely the most varied and unique season when it comes to visuals, and it deserves more credit for that.

@the_tidalzone I think season 2 has the best animation, it was fluent without going insanely off model to the level of season 1 and the pilot.

That’s not to say that season 1 looks “bad” at all. The animation is still insanely good, there’s lots of unique staging. and it kept a lot of the really loose aspects of the pilot while maintaining the permanent designs of the characters. Perfect on all fronts. If anything, it’s definitely the best looking season of the entire show

I absolutely love how the pilot for Regular Show looks. The purple lighting, the beautiful colorful backgrounds, the fluidity of the animation and all of the expressions are super appealing to me. I wish they kept this style, at least in season 1

@JDone_13 @cornonthory Yeah,you can also tell it was done by the regular team because most of the colored lines are very faint and there's more depth to the artwork. The black lines are also all the same width in markerbob, in here, the black lines vary in thickness.

@JDone_13 @creativestrokez Fair point, but even then, I don't see it as much of an issue. It looks almost exactly the same except the markerbob ones aren't as expressive.
Also, is chocolate with nuts a markerbob episode? because that has to be one one of the best looking episodes of the whole show.

@cornonthory @JDone_13 The episodes in season 2-3 that were animated by a specific unit at rough draft that drew the episodes with bold airbrushed colored lines that look like they were drawn with markers.

@DrStorm44 I’m still not used to the puppet rigged animation and at this point it’s been used for this show longer than when it was frame by frame. It was only frame by frame for the first five seasons I believe.
