Nicky Garon RIP. Very sad to hear that Nicky a friend and political colleague for over 35 years, died yesterday morning - August 30th. Nicky’s death was peaceful, at home and with all her family around her. Just as she wanted it.” Just a few of the very many moments we shared.

All too aware the machines behind the scenes serve up my content and reward those who shout/provoke/attention seek the loudest. Am trying to cut through the noise to gauge your (people who follow me) thoughts ahead of Coronation weekend. How do you feel about it?

It’s not really ground breaking Britain once used to transport people of colour 1000s of miles until we realised they too had human rights

…whereas I feel sorry for discarded furniture, have no clue what I’m doing, and most certainly don’t have the right tools half the time. I’m starting to regret taking on this piano stool. I’ve sanded and sanded and still can’t quite get to clean wood. So close, but so far.

As I was attempting to channel the spirit of Repair Shop Will, it occurred to me that apart from attempting to repair and restore stuff, I’m sort of the opposite of the Repair Shop… they take much loved items, have an expert team and the correct tools and knowledge for the job..

@FarahKHussain You have perfectly articulated my overwhelming feeling about motherhood (my oldest baby is now 19). My biggest learning curve is that we are all just muddling thru feeling unconfident and guilty. Your different decisions are right for your family and that makes you a decent mum x

The overwhelming emotion of motherhood? Guilt. Guilt for taking too long off, guilt for going to work too early, guilt for not being a good employee, guilt at saying goodbye to your baby everyday, and most of all: guilt poured over you by other mums who made different decisions.

Have my nephews over for the night and the plan was for them to share my sister’s double bed. But instead, they are sharing my single bed but want me in the room too, so I’m sleeping on the floor…
