@ohhevans I hear that for sure, I think I see it in a way that it might have been planned that Regulus had a hidden redemption. Sirius making this distinction may be some forward call to a type of redeeming character. Classic imperfect redemption trope I know, just a possibility in my head

@crematedspatula i think he’s calling him spineless and naive, drawing a deliberate distinction between himself (courage or his convictions) and his brother (the better son, as he says a few lines later). i don’t really see pity or apathy but agree that he is judging the blood over morals of it!

@ohhevans @canismajore I think it was apathetic pity. If he’s saying he’s soft and believing “them”, rather than matching their ideals, he put family over morals. Sirius ran away from home at 16 to escape and committed to it, but perhaps saw an “innocence” of sorts to his nature. Or spineless yeah 🤣
