@PrettiGoodDay @Noticer8lyt "punish the baby" it's a clump of cells that can't feel shit. you realize they don't have subjective experience right? it cannot feel what's happening - it doesn't know what's happening. it's preventing pain receptors from forming in the first place

Every time she showed up, it felt like pure ragebait. You’re telling me you felt “alone” and didn’t know what to do… so your solution was to abort? And this is after Mark went off to fight a whole war, with no guarantee he’d even make it back(sadly,he’s the main character). If anything, that should’ve been more reason to keep the baby. For someone who claims she loved him, that child was literally a piece of him. Now imagine Mark actually d!ed, and Debbie finds out you got rid of his kid. That’s going to be messy….fvckin b!tch!!!

"They seized my baby and sliced him in two with a knife. My second child woke up ... They split his head with a machete." THIS IS THE REALITY FOR NIGERIAN CHRISTIANS. When will the world wake up?!

@Jintaaru @knowclarified @Nimbopill Why would the author use a softer word for the exact same crime and remove the call for help which shows it's not fornication the context is consistent with exodus 22:16-17 rather than just another instance of rape suddenly being described with a softer word all of a sudden

@crimsonpath1 @knowclarified @Nimbopill The author of the bible many times use other verbs than hazaq to describe the act of rape. It doesnt change the context of the actual verse if the specific word hazaq isnt mentioned because hebrew relies heavily on context. Innah can be use to describe rape depending on context

@Jintaaru @knowclarified @Nimbopill If it did mean rape they would have used hazaq like it was used when an actual unbetrothed virgin tamar was raped. No the cry shows that it wasn't fornication

@crimsonpath1 @knowclarified @Nimbopill As the commentary by Richard Nelson says. If the author was trying to convey another message they would have applied a weaker verb. Hebrew doesn’t use one word to convey the message of rape. Also a cry not being mentioned is because the previous verses assumes consent in the city

@Jintaaru @knowclarified @Nimbopill Not force it to mean rape. We actually have an example in scripture of an unbetrothed virgin being raped Tamar and the word specifically used hazaq

@Jintaaru @knowclarified @Nimbopill If it was just another instance of rape then there would be no reason to change wording and not mention a cry for help. The hebrew verb distinction wasn't perserved into the septuagint which happens often everywhere in greek translations. The consensus is split. The context does

@crimsonpath1 @RealMattFradd biblical scholars agree that the gospels are anonymous and mostly based on the account from the book of Mark. They gospels do not even fully agree.

@marshallpittman @RealMattFradd Gospels aren't anonymous. Within 150 years of when the gospels were written we have multiple authors in unanimous agreement over the authors for reference we didn't know who wrote the annals until nearly 300 years later when St Jerome said it was tacitus.

@marshallpittman @RealMattFradd Anthropic principle is terrible it doesn't explain anything it just states the obvious. Rabbinic jews reject it rabbinic Jews didn't write isaiah. We already covered under Naturalism knowledge isn’t attainability it doesn't even provide a basis to believe humans can reason proper

You should not assume there is a god, nor should you assume there is a god. Accept only what the evidence shows. There is no evidence for a god. I have tried to find any evidence and even earnestly lived under the assumption that there was a god, for quitte awhile. I had to admit the reality and rebuild based on objective truth.
