Which variant do you prefer? I initially really pushed to go with the second variant, because it felt more unique. We ended up going with the first one, since it felt more standard for a dark mode product.

Week 9 of #FramerChallenge Made $1,707 Current status is 52.8% ($18,482/$35,000) The challenge doesn't really seem achievable with templates only now, but I am glad I set my goals this high, it motivates me to work even harder. However had to slow down a this week and enjoy life a bit.

@KatieKeithBarn2 Now more than ever having multiple streams of income is a must. Confidence in long-term employment has eroded. Build anti-fragility.

A lot of people think that running your own business is risky, while having a job at a big company is safe. I’m not sure that applies in tech anymore. WordPress isn’t growing with the momentum it used to, and our new sales are slightly down this year - but renewals now make up 60% of revenue, which keeps things stable. Even if revenue fell, it would be gradual and not overnight. Meanwhile, so many talented people lose their jobs - and 100% of their income - suddenly, through no fault of their own 😢 It takes time to build a sustainable business (a big “if” 😅), but once you do, it can actually be the safer path. That’s why I think it’s a shame that after being laid off, most people immediately start looking for another job. I know many need a steady income right away, but for those who don’t, this could be a chance to explore other paths instead of jumping straight back into employment.

As of today, I’ve reviewed over 1,000 Framer Marketplace components. Want to get yours approved? Here are the mistakes that block most submissions and how to avoid them.🧵

The only thing we can all agree on regarding NYCs new mayor is that no one (partisans and non-partisans alike) can spell or pronounce his name correctly.

I've been using Figma Make and getting half-baked results. I fed it a pretty intense UI and wanted to add interaction to a multi-select dropdown with labels. The divs were all over the place. I must admit however that the interaction was not far off. So still a ways to go Figma.

Been playing around with @framer 's powerful animation tools. Also noticed how most designers overkill website animations. Done tastefully animation adds value. But it shouldn’t be intrusive or feel forced.

I can’t believe how insanely simple the transition from @figma to @framer is. If you use auto-layout and components in Figma you’ll get Framer in seconds.

I feel like taking on a personal project with total creative freedom. I haven’t designed websites in a while, but @framer blew my mind. This tool is something else. I'll be heads down cooking something up.

I stopped “selling design” a while ago. I sell clarity. Design is just how it happens. Most clients don’t need prettier visuals, they need their story to finally make sense. Once that clicks, the visuals follow. That’s what Bright Studios is about for me.

@chalaska Everything has tradeoffs. The lean agency is the best balance between Autonomy, freedom and profit if you ask me.

It's easy to feel small next to studios with three offices and 40-person teams. I used to think that's what "made it" looked like. Then I started seeing the actual numbers. Some studios I know have impressive top-line revenue and 40+ people teams. The kind of setup that looks like success from the outside. But after rent on multiple offices, full-time salaries, benefits, and operational overhead, their profit margins are surprisingly thin. My setup? Just me and a small group of trusted designers I collaborate with project-to-project. No office leases. No full-time payroll overhead. Significantly healthier margins. I take home more than founders running studios 3-5x my size. But that's not even the best part. I still get to design every day. I'm not trapped in finance meetings or dealing with HR complexity. I work directly with early-stage founders on products I actually care about. - I choose my clients - I control my schedule - I protect my focus time The industry loves to sell revenue and scale as the definitions of success. More team members. Bigger clients. Fancier office. But scale comes with trade-offs most people don't talk about: - Thinner margins - Higher stress - Less craft time - More management overhead For some founders, that trade is worth it. They love building teams and managing operations. For me? I optimized enjoyment instead. I'm not saying one path is better. But if you're running a small studio and comparing yourself to bigger shops, remember this: Revenue isn't profit. Team size isn't success. And growth isn't always the goal. Sometimes the win is making great money while still doing the work you love.

More designers are betting on themselves. I see it everywhere... freelancers turning into agency owners, agency owners spinning up products. The pattern is the same: designers realizing they can run their own game. It’s not just about escaping client work. Designers have sat inside startups, shipped features, watched UX drive retention, and seen design close funding rounds. They know the playbook. And they’re tired of just applying it for someone else. So they launch. Studios. SaaS. Marketplaces. Tools. Whatever they’ve been quietly sketching on the side. Because design isn’t just execution. It’s a way of thinking about systems, outcomes, and leverage. And when you apply that lens to business? It’s still design work, just with higher stakes.

Transferred my website domain from Godaddy to @Cloudflare . Half the cost. Better security and analytics. Best decision I made this month.
