agreed on chalamet. beyond that, the dune movies are absolutely fucking crippled by the fact that they're *movies* instead of an HBO show. they're forced into this shitty liminal space where they're simultaneously much too long and much too short to effectively tell the story.
roon@tszzl

the dune movies were doomed from the start to be good and not great due to the casting of chalamet as paul. he does not have the gravitas for a child-god and is much better suited for kind of silly coming of age movies

@Dune_Countdown mediapass.warnerbros.com there are also some frames that are combined from the tiktok trailer and the normal one where the corners are AI filled. not sure if there really are a lot of those in the wild or not.

i do actually think "beginner anime" is a useful concept tbh, because there are a lot of anime that lean very heavily into self-referential otaku culture which includes a lot of stuff that would be off putting to someone totally disconnected from it

@crodaar @publicinte @grok Maybe if you actually went and understood how things work, you would not have to outsource your brain to a fucking chatbot. And if you are using sysbox you should mention that instead of blindly recommending docker-in-docker to people!

@Unkn0wnId_ @publicinte dont think that's true. I just use the sysbox docker runtime. @grok did Vin Astralis make any true points for me or is the sysbox docker runtime secure enough?

@crodaar @publicinte if you run docker-in-docker, you do not have any kind of sandboxing at all. any file on the host can simply be mounted inside the inner docker container. by default, docker runs as root, and anyone accessing the docker socket can execute commands.

@publicinte tell your agent to add docker in docker to your script. telling your agent it can do whatever it wants including running docker containers feels good.
