Dear Cadbury, “From Cadbury this season.” What season? Go on, say it. It’s EASTER. You are selling EASTER eggs for the EASTER SEASON. How dare you profit off a Christian holiday while erasing its Christian origins. They are Easter eggs. It is Easter. Shame on you.

@Haqiqatjou Every country has its own moon sighting process. If you’re in the UK, follow your local mosques and focus on unity rather than debating announcements from abroad.

MashaAllah, despite all known laws of Astronomy, Afghanistan miraculously sighted the moon to start Ramadan, and they miraculously sighted it again to end the month.

AFGHANISTAN SEE THE MOON?!? According to astronomical data, the moon was below the horizon and before conjunction at the reported time of sighting in Afghanistan. In other words, the moon had not yet been born and was not above the horizon, meaning it would have been astronomically impossible to observe. This is not the first time that such reports have emerged from Afghanistan. For example, in 2022 there was also a reported sighting prior to a lunar eclipse, which raised similar questions among astronomers and moonsighting experts. QUESTION FOR THOSE WHO SUPPORT GLOBAL SIGHTING IN THE UK Some supporters of a "global moonsighting" approach argue that if Muslims in another country report seeing the moon, their testimony should be accepted without scientific scrutiny. In light of the current report, it raises an interesting question: Would those who advocate global moonsighting accept a report such as this one from Afghanistan? Or are such principles applied selectively, to only follow Saudi? These situations highlight why many communities emphasise the importance of careful verification and strong local observation systems, as is the sunnah. In any case, we look forward to focusing on our own local sightings tomorrow, and we ask Allah for clarity and unity.

It’s difficult to determine who is the bigger c**t: Simon Jordan or Jim Ratcliffe. It’s a close call.

@ImpressionistAL As a grassroots club serving a diverse community, we see every week how much immigrants contribute to this game. They’re not “foreign to football” — they are football. Leadership in our sport should unite, not divide.

Horrible comments from Jim Ratcliffe today, absolutely zero respect to the foreign players and staff at Manchester United too, he has greatly damaged his reputation this evening.

@kickitout Grassroots football is built on diversity. Let’s not pretend racism doesn’t exist in our game — many of us have seen and experienced it. If football is truly for everyone, that must start with responsible leadership at the top.

Kick It Out statement: Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s comments are disgraceful and deeply divisive at a time when football does so much to bring communities together. In addition to the inaccurate figures mentioned, it’s worth reminding him that Manchester United has a diverse fan base and plays in a city whose cultural history has been enriched by immigrants. This type of language and leadership has no place in English football, and we believe most fans will feel the same.
