"We have an agreement with India, and according to that agreement, India will supply 180,000 tons of diesel to Bangladesh via the pipeline each year. The 5,000 tons of diesel that is arriving now is a part of that agreement," says Chairman of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC), Muhammad Rezanur Rahman tell ANI. "According to the agreement, at least 90,000 tons of diesel should be imported to Bangladesh within six months. The consignment arriving today is 5,000 tons, and we hope that within the next two months, we will bring in the total diesel amount for the entire six months," the BPC chairman adds.

The Supreme Court has taken suo moto cognisance of issue of Class 8 (Eighth) students being taught ‘corruption in the Indian judiciary’ in their NCERT curriculum. “I’m fully aware of it we will wait for a day. The definitely concerns the entire institution. Both bar and bench.. I am getting lot of calls, lots of messages. I’m taking suo moto cognisance of the issue. I will not let anybody, no matter how high up they are, defame the institution” the Chief Justice said. Senior lawyers Kapil Sibal and Abhishek M. Singhvi mentioned the issue before the CJI led bench and stated that children are being taught the subject of corruption in judiciary as if it doesn’t exist anywhere else in any other institution. “They have left out bureaucracy, politics, etc. Not a word on other sectors. They are teaching as if it only exists in this institution”, the lawyers said. The CJI in response acknowledged the seriousness of the issue and said that “it’s a calculated and deep rooted thing. We will not say anything more than that. As head of institution I’m aware, I’m already doing something about it”.

My Demand: Make Long Term Capital Gain TAX on Equities NIL for individual investor. I welcome the hike in STT (security transaction tax) on derivatives as it can curb reckless speculation. Nearly 90% of retail investors lose money in F&O, turning markets into gambling. When STT was originally introduced, LTCG was zero. But now with both STT and LTCG in place, investors are disincentivised. I urge the govt to abolish LTCG on equities for individuals, as done in Switzerland, Singapore, UAE & others. This will boost household wealth, reduce speculation, and shift savings from gold & real estate into equities.
