We're realistically not seeing Ekitike now until 2027 and it will take him a while to get up to speed even when he is back. Unless we're relying on Isak all season, which we shouldn't, we now need to add a No. 9 to the shopping list as well. It just gets better and better.

@BigRon1261 @TheKopHQ Completely agree, it also doesn’t factor in the option to switch the two later in the match for tactical/fitness reasons. But at the same time, I do like the idea of having Ekitike pulling a bit wide and Isak occupying the middle space.

@rebekkarnold He’s not the issue I’m referring to, more the fact that they didn’t afford themselves the time to adequately replace Isak because they fought against the tide and lost. Howe’s borne the brunt of outfall from that, and it’s not really on him.

@rebekkarnold This is it. I also think the club handled the Isak saga terribly from top to bottom resulting in an effective panic buy in Woltemade, and the blame shouldn’t just fall on Howe for that. Lessons need to be learnt and he needs better, earlier transfer support.
