Some shoulder dislocations like this one don’t require surgery. If there’s no structural damage and the surrounding muscles have simply been stretched, the preferred approach is often to let the joint heal naturally and then focus on strengthening it. This gives you the best chance of restoring the joint as close as possible to its original function. This is one injury where surgery isn’t always the best option, and there’s no guarantee it will be successful even if you do have it.

Scans today confirmed midfielder Dyson Sharp has dislocated his shoulder following a marking contest in the third quarter of yesterday’s match. He will undergo further scans tomorrow to further assess the joint. We will provide an update following these results.
