I previously had huge admiration for Gerard Whateley, especially with him knocking back a big deal from 3AW out of loyalty to the ABC. That Gerard is long gone after accepting SEN’s lucrative contract to usurp any lingering loyalty he might have had left. The formulaic & routine of espousing anti-Essendon monologues week to week are tedious, trite & disingenuous. The goal now is to promote ads every 5 minutes & condescendingly pontificate verbose diatribes as the self appointed ‘voice of the people’. What a shame

Had to happen. Brought about a mountain of needed change to personnel and standards. But the on field was just nowhere near acceptable for too long. Such an exciting list for prospective coaches to consider for 2027 and beyond. Please choose the right person/people. 🟥⬛️

Essendon president Andrew Welsh met with Brad Scott face-to-face very early this morning where it was formalised that Brad would not be continuing as coach. The board had met over over the weekend to discuss Brad's future and my understanding is the decision to part ways was made late last night. More to come on @WhateleySEN shortly.
