Was thinking of a metaphor about blockchains and girlfriends
Bitcoin is this prude girl who blushes & gets overwhelmed when you touch her lap in church, only accepts missionary position, and obviously refuses to scale for every boy in town.
Ethereum is this dirty girl who does everything. And I mean EVERYTHING, with everyone… for the right price. The biggest problem is that she also doesn’t scale: she’s limited by the number of holes. Can get creative and try to find workarounds, but most of them involve searching for equally dirty lookalikes. Very exciting when you switch from Bitcoin, but you’re very likely to catch some infection.
Zcash is the girl who’s always vague. Reliable, always shows up. But you never know what she really thinks, you have no idea what she does for a living and whether she’s faithful or cheats on you. As soon as the date is over, she vanishes so you cannot follow her around. Has no problem showing up at your place, but you don’t know where she lives.
Monero is the World of Warcraft girlfriend. Only exists online, is always there for your guild raids and always available for virtual sex. However, you’re not sure if the person behind the account is truly a girl or some sick dude. As a matter of fact, it might as well be a bot. But whatever she/he/it is, you’re always having a good time. If you’re a junkie, he/she/it can also recommend someone who’s selling what you’re after, with absolute discretion.

@van00sa @vitytradez Further cementing the “Bitcoin, not crypto” narrative

Tether just froze $131 million belonging to Iran’s central bank.
The US added 4 wallets to the sanctions list and within hours the funds were dead. Over $165 million sat in those addresses. No court in Iran, no negotiation, just a switch flipped at a private company’s compliance desk.
Whatever you think of Iran, sit with the mechanics. A stablecoin issuer can freeze any wallet on earth the moment a government asks. Central banks included.

@banracism445 @SpinninBackfist I see it regularly in Aussie rules football, someone jumps up and lands awkwardly and the ACL goes 12-18month injury thank you very much
English

@SpinninBackfist He was fine idk why everyone’s thinking there’s an injury here. Ur psychologically looking for something that’s not there. It snapped during the fight. That’s it that’s all. It’s been hours of ppl going back n fourth over a knee injury conspiracy lol

Capping the supply of Bitcoin at 21M doesn't make sense. Beacuse over time, keys will be lost. In fact, as time goes to infinity, all keys will be lost.
I strongly support a clear monetary policy with an absolute upper bound on the # of Bitcoins in the future. Say, fix a max issuance rate and you get that (a good choice is 4% a year, this is a reasonable upper bound on human population expansion).
This way, you ensure there's enough to go around.
And I'm not even talking about the security problem, looming large on the horizon.
