I can’t help but feel for all my old classmates who are finishing their college education wether with an undergraduate or masters degree right now
I have 2 friends who graduated from Columbia and Oxford, both are struggling to find a job and they didn’t pursue a bs degree
I’ll tell you what I told them
“If you can’t find a job then make yourself one”
But it’s easy to say when in reality they dedicated their entire existence to get to where they are at this very moment only to realize that what they were told as kids is no longer valid
Literally just saw that “freshers” have a +13% unemployment rate in the US, highest in 38y
I don’t see how it will get better from here, we might genuinely have a situation where an entire generation is sacrificed
Imagine being a sophomore/senior in high school right now, what even is the +EV thing to do if you can’t get into an elite university?
I feel for them most it must be absolutely terrifying

Once upon a time I applied for a $100,000 loan from my bank.
After doing all the paperwork they said "Okay the money will be in your account within two business days"
I waited a week, but I didn't get the money.
I called up the bank and told them.
Bank: The money is in your account.
Me: No it isn't.
Bank: It's in there, we don't make mistakes.
They don't make mistakes? This is a crazy thing for a bank to say. I worked at a bank, and we made mistakes all the time.
An hour or so later the bank called me.
Bank: Uh we sent the money to the wrong Angus Cheng. Sorry, the money should be in your account later today.
Me: I thought you said you don't make mistakes.
They didn't know what I was talking about it was a different person.
Soon after that the bank deposited ten million dollars into my account.
The next day I got a call from the bank.
Bank: Sorry we sent you the wrong amount of money. Can you send it back.
Me: Why don't you just take it out yourself, you are the bank.
Bank: Uhhh okay.
They took the extra money out a bit later.

When I was a younger trader, I kept pictures of everything I wanted right at my desk. Try it. Put them on your phone wallpaper if you have to. Force yourself to look at them every day. Part of me genuinely believes the universe makes it happen.
