The power dynamics of OPEC and OPEC+ (later on) can teach you a lot about what may unfold in the future. For starters, OPEC was always centered around the power and flexibility of Saudi production. Saudi says jump, everyone jumps. If you don't jump, they destroy you with price cuts and production increases. You don't have to be a scholar to understand this dynamic, just look at past episodes: 1986, 1998, 2009, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022, etc. If Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz via a toll mechanism, it will have an effective say in future production. This is 1,000x more powerful than the dynamic Saudis had over OPEC+. There's a 0% chance this happens. There's a higher chance I can travel at the speed of light before the Saudis agree to anything like this.
