I mean is there is a genuine need that rises from the gut- “I’m making sense of a mathematical idea & I’m using all of these organic meaningful words to describe it. What do mathematicians call it? @3DWildcats @IllustrateMath @dahazel77 I am so interested in the 6x8 array! Did the student start with that because it was a fact they knew? I want to ask them to tell me more about the multiplication in their drawing? Where do they see groups? Will they talk about “groups of groups”?

I would add all the moments in between working w/ students. A colleague pushes my thinking: “Wait. What? Whoa. I’ve gotta check this out.”Then those little Yodas blow the doors off my current understanding of teaching & learning math.😂
