Monitoring and Evaluation is key to what we do as an organization. It’s helps us to review and revise strategies used in implementing policies. It has become a major part of all our trainings. Our M & E officer, Francis is currently taking animators through the format used.

It will be great to share teachings and discussions at our mother to mother support groups with other women in our communities: Eastern Regional Nutrition Officer of the Ghana Health Service, Mr. Sarkodie to our 30 participants at the ongoing capacity building workshop.

In the last 3 days we have equipped our local partners or community animators with the relevant information and guidance needed to facilitate mother to mother support groups. We believe the knowledge acquired will help reduce the malnutrition and infant mortality numbers. Day 3

1/2 Appropriate complementary feeding should start at 6 months of age using small amounts of food with increasing quantity as the child gets older, However some mothers are unable to comply with this because they think one needs enough money to buy these baby supplements.

1/2 Naomi is a volunteer from the Akpo Epicenter. Naomi is a participant of the capacity building workshop. She says HIV positive mothers in her community do not breastfeed their babies because they feared they will transfer the virus through breastfeeding.

In partnership with the Ghana Health Service, we are organizing a four-day training workshop aimed at building the capacity and improving the knowledge of 30 community animators or volunteers rom 15 Epicenters to help facilitate mother to mother support groups in rural Ghana
