@andrew_lautz: “Usually 60-80% of those savings get passed through at the pump. So, an 18-cent-per-gallon federal gas tax suspension might save drivers 10-15 cents per gallon. For a full fill-up of a sedan, we're talking about $2-$3 in savings. For an SUV, about $3-$4. That compares to a $20-$30 increase in the cost of filling up your tank since the start of the war.” Bipartisan Policy Center's Andrew Lautz explains the potential impact of suspending the federal gas tax.

.@MimiGeerges: "Open primaries — explain why you're in favor of that." @RepGarretGraves: "At the end of the day, you have to represent all of the constituents — not just the Democrats or the Republicans. … An open primary system is more consistent with why we had the Boston Tea Party. I think it's more consistent with the values and fundamentals of a democracy. … An open primary system would result in restoring more functionality in Congress, better representation, and I think we have examples that prove it."

Following President Trump’s arrival in Beijing for meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping, @RepJohnnyO (D-MD) discusses Taiwan and U.S.-China policy, expressing concern that the administration could “soften” its stance toward China. @RepJohnnyO: "What I've seen, at least in my short tenure on the Foreign Affairs Committee, is that Chinese aggression is real. It's happening all over the world, and we have an administration and a president who, rather than meet that aggression — both domestically and internationally — is almost embracing the fact that China is doing that."

Career Education Colleges and Universities President & CEO @JasonAltmire on what he calls a "Sputnik moment" for the American workforce: "We have millions of jobs that can't be filled. The pipeline to those jobs is harmed by the demographics of the country. We're getting older, and not enough people are choosing that profession. We have job displacements driven by AI. So all of this comes together to form a national crisis."
