AI just showed me an ad for “Kobe Sneakers”… with a photo of Air Jordans. Somewhere, an algorithm confidently went: “Basketball player… basketball shoes… nailed it.” This is the same technology people think will run the world.

This is actually terrifying Google's docs explicitly states certain API keys should NOT be treated as a secret and should be placed into HTML. Without warning, these *public* credentials were suddenly used for the Gemini API meaning anyone can access Gemini and uploaded data.

I have a process when I start building something new. I chose the soundtrack first. It turns the journey into a movie in my head. I listen to it every day. In the car. At home. Even when I’m not actively building. I imagine the breakthrough. The win. The moment it all clicks. It keeps the vision alive. The soundtrack changed. That usually means something big is being built. music.apple.com/us/album/again…

@dennisivy11 @granzular To throw my 2 cents. Dennis is 100% correct for consultants its never about building a somple app. I just finished a large payroll integration. Very complex and uncovering the what and how. Skills will still pay the bills. AI is an augmentation of my skills.

Sure, I can see that. But it also depends on the kind of freelancing that you’re doing if you’re just building simple web apps, then sure low code tools already lowered that barrier to entry. I know some freelancers that work on some insane apps that would never be able to be built without deep knowledge

I would argue that it actually raised the barrier to entry. Developers used to be able to learn some basics and plug themselves into roles where they just maintained code and built simple components. You cant hide behind those tasks anymore. I believe there will be less room for jobs like that. The best will thrive, the laggards will be left exposed. The gap between the skilled and the mediocre will widen. My prediction: there will be less devs and more demand. For those that are skilled, I guess you can say that’s a great thing.

I don’t think AI is lowering the barrier to entry as much as it is giving the very smartest people an even more enormous advantage.

@Adityapandeydev If you spend enough time swimming, you will eventually become a crocodile 🐊? Is that the logic?

No matter how many times you ask AI to review your code, it will suggest something. Same code. Same prompt. New opinion. AI is the coworker who can’t stop refactoring and needs to be told: “Just ship it already.”

In this economy, you don’t negotiate salary. You negotiate: • Remote work • Flexible hours • Claude token limits “Competitive compensation package?” Cool. How many tokens do I get before we sign?

@ctBobbyDavis @maybedanielleee My power line is buried, but the feeder line isn’t, so we lose power about once a year. And we are at the end of the line and a fairly small neighborhood, so end up low on the restoration list 😩.

‘Underground power lines’ keeps coming up as if it’s a one day project and an easy fix. Nashville sits on ROCK. Solid limestone. We can’t just dig trenches for the power lines with a shovel. It would take years and cost BILLIONS to complete such a project.

Nothing like a very bad winter storm to start conspiracy theories and conversations to further divide the people of middle Tennessee. Reminder, Nashville hasn’t had an ice storm since 1993.

I still don't understand Google Maps API keys. If you're showing a map on your website, the API key is in your client-side code. An attacker can use this API key to send millions of requests and you're paying for it. There's no way to secure it?

Microsoft’s “North Star” — 1 engineer, 1 month, 1M lines of code — isn’t about replacing developers. It’s about leverage. AI doesn’t reduce the value of clarity, domain knowledge, or judgment. It raises it. I shared my thoughts here linkedin.com/pulse/what-you…

This feedback truly means a lot. Being called an educator is the highest compliment. Thank you for the thoughtful review—your commitment to learning really shows. Best of luck, and keep coding.

@Pijinnn_ I feel your pain. We did manage a clear w 2 hunters and a warlock. Our tech was solar blade barrage hunter, prismatic void hunter and well warlock. 3 Wolfbane swords. It took 2 full days 530 sunday am. Definitely hard to do. You will get it next time.

Sadly no contest clear this time around. Despite replicating countless strategies we couldn't hit the damage checks on final boss. Not sure if this was a gear check or other but I'm fairly certain this is the most I've resented the lack of viability for the hunter class in a contest mode weekend. That paired with not having alts super prepped just put it out of reach this time. Will post thoughts after I rest GG to all who cleared :)
