@BBCPolitics The point of university isn’t just to make money and pay off loans! That ignores all the other benefits of further learning- widen your perspectives on the world, build empathy for others who, debate things, formulate your identity, contribute towards a society

“We’re going to stop the government funding dead end university courses” Shadow education secretary Laura Trott says her party would stop funding courses that “don’t deliver for young people” citing some creative arts courses as an example #BBCLauraK bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00…

The hunger strikers were arrested before Palestine Action was proscribed, and none of them are charged with terrorist offences, yet it seems anti-terrorism powers are being misused to avoid treating them fairly. This is wrong. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

“I’m holding a piece of paper, that’s not a terrorist act. A terrorist act is intentionally starving 2 million,” she said. “I don’t know what to say to [Palestinians], I’m so sorry it’s come to this. I wish we could do more but we’re trying our best.” 💔 theguardian.com/world/2025/aug…

Tharel Thompson, a young man from Barbados was on holiday with family in the UK when he became the victim of a vicious attack. He was left with severe injuries and now needs 24 hour care and further surgery but as a foreign national he's not entitled to NHS treatment. According to his mother, who's in this country to care for him, he's not well enough to be moved back home to Barbados and the treatment he needs would not be available there anyway.

🚨Breaking: Kent Police have doubled down after pro-Palestine protesters were questioned for holding flags and placards. A spokesperson told Declassified: "It is a criminal offence to carry or display items that may arouse reasonable suspicion" of support for Palestine Action.

A cyclist wouldn't stop at these mini zebra crossings down Blackfriars because of the sheer volume of traffic behind them. Stopping would send cyclists behind hurtling off their bikes. Obviously this is also totally unfair on pedestrians who should be able to use these freely.

Really is totally unfathomable that the "floating bus stop" concept ever became a reality. Totally ludicrous town planning. A blight on Farringdon by the way. God knows how many near-misses there are each day. Dangerous for cyclist and pedestrian alike.
NFBUK@NFBUK

.@TfL @MayorofLondon so many concerns raised about floating bus stops in Colliers Wood last week when @Siobhain_Mc met with concerned residents. They are not working. Bus passengers need to access the bus direct from the pavement, without having to cross a cycle lane first.

UPDATE: Officers have arrested more than 20 people on suspicion of offences under the Terrorism Act 2000. They have been taken into custody. Palestine Action is a proscribed group and officers will act where criminal offences are committed.

The government's proscription of Palestine Action came into force at midnight last night. It is now illegal to express support for the group under the Terrorism Act 2000. But Keir Starmer and Yvette Cooper can't change what I believe. Classifying a direct action protest group alongside the likes of Al Qaeda and National Action is a gross abuse of power. The restrictions on expressing political opinions about Palestine Action are a disgusting assault on free expression. And this Labour government has been shamefully complicit in Israel's genocidal war against the people of Gaza.
Novara Media@novaramedia

Tomorrow, MPs will debate and vote on a measure to proscribe the protest group Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation. Without equivocation or caveat, Novara Media stands opposed to this historic infringement on freedom of expression. Our statement:
