To lose a game because you didn't touch home plate after scoring a home run would be completely absurd and I can't imagine wanting to win on a technicality like that.

I started preparing for cEDH tournaments last winter then realized how common draws are in a tournament setting and completely lost interest. This and the combination of cheating and angle shooting politics has completely turned me off to the format.

@scryfall My initial plan was Bloomburrow then a little research suggested Thunder Junction. A caveat to the chaos draft is that you get to choose a creature (any creature) to act as your commander but no color identity restrictions. So sets with good creatures would be a bonus.

What is the best collector booster to pick up from Standard legal sets right now (both value and power)? There's a chaos draft where you get to open (and keep) a collector booster of your choice then do the normal chaos draft with three play boosters. #mtg #magic #fnm #wotc

@MTGGoldfish Aren't all four of the precons white (Terra, Cloud, Tidya, and Y'shtola)? I'd expect one of each printing to be in each deck but I suppose that could break the FFVI, FFVII, FFX, and FFXIV thing going on, too.

@ConnorCoultrup @tronisbad It's an activated ability, those are signified with a colon (":") -- most newer cards tap as part of their activated ability but Vivi does not. It needs to use the stack and the option to use it at instant speed so it ended up with what's printed.

I said it before the errata, WotC should blanket ban companions and change the ruling back to how it was printed. The rationale for banning Jegantha was absurd, btw. Essentially said they didn’t want a card that limited deck design when that’s the core concept for companions.

A five mana 5/5 getting banned across multiple formats even after the blanket Companion nerf really goes to show just how insane it is the mechanic ever saw the light of day.
