State Representative Tim Ackert has paused CT GOP roll call for LG to withdraw. Matt Corey is party nominee. Ackert was Erin Stewart’s running mate and ill-informed defender through several weeks of revelations.

Today is Day 2 of the GOP convention. Party endorsements will be decided for Gov and Lt. Gov. Today is also the Democratic convention for the party endorsement for statewide offices, headlined by Gov Ned Lamont facing a challenge from State Rep. Josh Elliott for the endorsement. No other incumbent is expected to face a challenge but we will see if anything develops.

@ECaliberSeven And Connecticut on top of it had a tied State Senate (18-18) in 2017, with the Democratic Lt. Gov able to break ties. So even that wasn't fully Democratic controlled.

Underrated dynamic rn is that under Biden, Dems actually held their own downballot for Gov & Leg, giving them the ability to, among other things, fight the gerrymandering war. If this war happened in 2017, after the catastrophic Obama-era losses, it would’ve been a bloodbath.

State Sen. John Fonfara (D-Hartford) formed a campaign committee today to run for re-election for a 16th term to the 1st State Senate seat. Fonfara should have no issue holding onto this Harris+38 seat that contains the South-end of Hartford and parts of Wethersfield.
