I honestly feel that dreaming big is so much easier for this generation, especially because of the effort schools like the American School of Doha put into exposing students to people who have excelled in different fields. I loved speaking to the students leaders at ASD, engaging with students from the Elementary EFFECT club, having a Q and A session with the Science National Honor Society and giving keynotes speeches to different grades. Thank you so much for hosting me 🙏🏾🤩🦍 Looking forward to welcoming you to Uganda to learn more about our work with the gorillas and local communities at Conservation Through Public Health.

As the festive season approaches, MFCA met with 30 hospitality managers to strengthen visitor safety, service standards, and guest flow across lodges in and around the park. Held under the theme “Strengthening Visitor Experience for the Festive Season,” the meeting reaffirmed our commitment to delivering a memorable, secure holiday experience for all visitors. Planning to visit Murchison Falls this festive season? Book early, follow official guidelines, and choose certified lodges for a smooth and unforgettable experience. #TourismUG #ExploreUganda #TravelSafe #FestiveSeason2025

One thing we all highlighted during the Green Hope Legacy Public Talk in honour of Dr. Jane Goodall is her humility and her incredible ability to connect with people from all walks of life. She could strike up a conversation with anyone, whether it was a member of the rural local communities or a President. Thank you Dr. Jane for challenging cultural and societal norms and reaching beyond your field to change the world, through your work and your books. Thank you for inspiring me to pursue my chosen career in conservation, becoming the first veterinary doctor for Uganda Wildlife Authority in 1996, which led to founding Conservation Through Public Health in 2003. JGI Uganda gave me the opportunity to train and mentor the first two chimpanzee veterinarians in Uganda and one of them, Dr Peter Apel, went on to train and mentor chimpanzee veterinarians all over Africa. I will be forever grateful for the impact you have had on my life and leadership journey, and for the wonderful Foreword your wrote for my book Walking With Gorillas. Rest in peace and power. May we continue your legacy 🕊️🦧🦍🌳 Watch the full event here: youtube.com/live/D5rnxxm2l… @TourismBoardUg @ugwildlife

After discovering that gorilla groups ranging outside the park and into community land carried more human parasites, we realized it was not enough to focus on the gorillas alone. This led us to work with the local health and veterinary authorities to deworm people and their livestock to help prevent the spread of parasites between people and gorillas. I was honored to speak at the Albertine Apes Alliance Informal Dialogue on great ape ecotourism and conservation in honour of Dr Jane Goodall. The event, organized by Volcanoes Safaris, gave me the opportunity to talk about gorillas, tourism and the challenges of disease control. @CTPHuganda @ctph_camp @GCCoffee1

Honoring Dr. Jane Goodall’s Legacy. On 15th October I’ll be joining Ashoka, for a special online conversation as we remember Dr. Jane Goodall and her timeless call to action, that each of us has a role to play in creating a better world. I’ll be talking to Alexandra Mitjans, who co-leads Ashoka’s People and Planet global collaborative, about how Jane mentored me as well as our work with her team at the Jane Goodall Institute, lessons from the wild, and what lifelong changemaking means to me as an Ashoka Fellow, which I was honored to become because of founding Conservation Through Public Health. Register for the event here: us02web.zoom.us/webinar/regist… #JaneGoodall #WalkingWithGorillas @StateHouseUg @TourismBoardUg @ugwildlife @InsideNatGeo
