Whether this network will truly be fully operational by 2027 or will falter due to its own complexity, I honestly don't know – there are too many moving parts at play simultaneously. But the direction is clear. As an investor with a 6- to 24-month horizon, I'm less interested in the outrage than in the consequences: capital and talent are migrating to where there is less regulation. Ultimately, competition for business locations is also a competition for freedom - and Europe is currently squandering its lead, while the USA and privacy tech are filling the gap.
