Token utility is dying slowly. • Token-gated access • Token use for payments • Etc While intended to benefit users, they often become sources of friction in products. Utility projects are essentially startups. They can be acquired (e.g., Padre, KOLscan, etc) or grow to become something much bigger. More often than not, tokens become a distraction as founders focus more on price action than the core business. Utility only exists to justify the existence of a token (hold this to get that), which only gets you so far. We're entering an age where this isn't necessary. Tokens that give holders upside in the company/product/service is the way. This gives founders the room to focus on underlying tech that leverages crypto/blockchain rather price. The upside isn't just in price, its in growth, acquisitions, or mergers that could happen if the underlying technology is really disruptive. This isn't ETH utility szn in 2023. Think bigger.
