@LizzieGibney Another level of fact behind this: there is less percentage of juniors than seniors for white, which means it is less likely for the other ethnicities to get promoted to senior level.

A similar plummet happens going from junior to senior research roles. Representation of people of all ethnicities, other than white, falls. Just 0.6% of UK science professors are Black. Why? As my interviewees told me, the system is just not a level playing field 6/n
