Conversion therapy, a “treatment” that claims to change a person’s gender identity or sexuality, has been widely discredited by every major medical organization in the country, including the American Psychiatric Association. Read more about the ruling: npr.org/2026/03/31/nx-….

“This decision is narrowly about how conversion therapy can be regulated. It does not mean that conversion therapy is safe or legal. Conversion therapy is still medical malpractice and consumer fraud,” said @shannonminter5, legal director for @NCLRights.

In the wake of last week’s Supreme Court decision, in which eight justices ruled against a Colorado law that banned conversion therapy for minors, LGBTQ+ activists are searching for the next steps to protect young people from this harmful practice.
