There's a lot of discussion on my timeline about the Japanese quizzes in public worlds. Seems like there's drama going on? Most VRC users weren't around until post-2021 so they probably don't get why those quizzes were added in the first place

@PersonVRC Fascinating read, but I don't see how this relates to VRC. The article is about how anyone going through OpenAI had data fed to the govt, which IS bad, but I don't see why this is shocking at all. (continued as pic to avoid 4 separate tweets)

VRChat still uses Persona Identities even after people found out that it was keeping the data to send it to the government, while apps like Discord dropped it completely. More below.

VRChat, the public deserves an update on Fusl. Last time they accused me of crimes, this time they refuse to even respond to the evidence. All we have is a short livestream clip acknowledging my videos existence. It's been 2 weeks and we don't know if Fusl has been fired.

@iris__vr @PersonVRC Reposting what I said as a reply here. They aren't okay with it though. They don't know about those games. It's easy to search public avatars for "Miltina" and see 100 models. You can't do that for Steam games. Someone has to manually tell them about those games.

@frenbot31488 @iris__vr @PersonVRC The other person posted the image in replies, but you're reading the VN3 license wrong lol. It explicitly prohibits public sharing of models via things like VRC. I'll repost the image as well to be sure people don't miss it. If the author doesn't say share it, dont share it.

@curigenic @iris__vr @PersonVRC The analogy assumes upload was never licensed. VN3 §2C explicitly permits upload to VRChat for personal use. That's more like a game where the publisher explicitly licensed mod sharing, the question then is whether this specific type of post fits within that license.

Booth avatar creators are cool with you making an H-game slop and releasing it on Steam, even with barely any changes to the base model. But if you dare to make your heavily edited Manuka avatar public — that's a death sentence! Oh the irony. VN3 license is defective by design

The entire reason piracy is such a huge problem on vrchat is due to licenses like this, it enables and encourages piracy indirectly, like Gabe Newell said, piracy isn't a platform problem, it's a service problem, provide a bad service? Expect to have your shit pirated, why does no one understand this? Piracy is and will always be due to bullshit terms of services and rules that are incredibly unfair to the end user and that's what we really should be talking about, the amount of times I have been discouraged from buying a model or product of any kind for vrchat has been due to unfair rules set by the original creator, sure don't republish as your own, that one's fair, but no publics, no ai use, etc when it's already purchased, already downloaded, etc. I'm gonna do what I want to do with it out of spite of that creators rules just because it's unfair to me as the product consumer, people who are in the creator space really need to think before they apply "x y z" rules because of how it effects the end consumer, most rules in fact are generic templates and end up making the piracy worse for them because they don't review it before posting, they're only thinking about the money potential. It's honestly why I stopped recommending so many models to friends because their rules got arbitrarily worse and worse. It's not that hard of a concept to understand

A lot of time has passed since the great 2025 avatar nuking of Rusk, Karin, Chocolat, and others in VRChat. Perhaps it's time we open up the conversation on what exactly happened, as well as discuss a certain license that may have a much larger impact on the VR and VTubing community than we think.
